The kitchen with dining area is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need during your stay, with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, electric oven, hob and extractor hood. During wet weather guests can use for a small charge the tumble dryer in the main house. The dining area has French doors leading out into the private garden and outdoor furniture and barbeque. Open plan beams lead the way into one of the two sitting rooms where for your entertainment are TV, video, music centre, a selection of books and games.

The other sitting rooms in the cottage can double up as a 3rd bedroom as it has a good quality bed-settee. Also downstairs are the bathroom (with french bath, shower, and vanity unit with basin) and separate toilet. A beautiful open-tread oak staircase leads upstairs where there are 2 adjoining bedrooms (one double, one twin-bedded). Both bedrooms have exposed beams and dormer windows look out across the garden to the countryside beyond.

The cottage garden has outdoor furniture, parasol and barbeque. All guests are welcome to enjoy the larger gardens at La Platriere, which include the large swimming pool surrounded by sun terrace where you can laze away hot summer days relaxing on the sun loungers. For the slightly more energetic guests can play boules on the petanque pitch, or maybe a game of croquet. (equipment provided) For the children there is a large playing field, and at the back of the house a childrens play area with swings and basketball. Children also love meeting our pigmy goats Freyar and Bilbo, who love to be the centre of attention.

Tariff:

The cottage is available to rent throughout the year and is let from saturday to saturday. To assist changeover, we specify a departure time of 10 am and an arrival time after 4.00 pm.

The cost is for up to 6 people and includes bedding and towels. There is a cleaning charge of 40 euros per week. During winter months when the central heating is on an additional cost of €30 per week applies for fuel costs. A non-refundable deposit of €100 (for 1 week) or €200 (for 2 weeks) is required on booking with the balance to be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. A damage waiver deposit of 150 euros is required on arrival. This is returned at the end of your stay minus any damages incurred. Please note tourist tax of 0,55 euros per person (over age of 13 years) per night is payable between 1st May and 30 September 2009. 

 As cancellation charges apply  we recommend you take out your own insurance, details of these charges are available when booking. Please also make your own travel arrangements, although we can offer travel discounts with certain ferry companies so please ask for details when booking your accommodation. We can assist with car hire if required, or for an additional supplement we can collect you from the nearest airports/train station - again please enquire when booking.

Evening meals (tables d'hôtes) are available in the main house for guests who wish join us. This option is particularly popular among our customers for the night of arrival It is necessary to book in advance, so if you require meals on the day of your arrival please notify us at the time of booking. We are happy to arrange meals throughout your stay provided you give us 24 hour notice. Prices start from €29,90 for a four course meal (choice of meat/fish or vegetarian). You may also purchase wines or beers from our extensive wine list.  Childrens meals (up to age 10 years) start from 10  euros; under 2's are free. If booking meals please let us know of any special dietary requirements. (Please see "evening meals" on our website menu bar).

Payment:
We do require a deposit on booking (please see above for the amount required) which is non-refundable, so we do recommend you take out travel insurance. If you book within 8 weeks of the commencement of your holiday, then we would request that the total amount is paid in full.

You can pay in any of the following ways:-
Bank Transfer - we can accept payment by bank transfer (3% transaction charge for customers from Europe. Outside Europe transaction charge of 15 euros applies).
Euro cheques - if issued outside France they incur a 20 euro bank charge.
PayPal – secure online payment using a credit or debit card- you do not have to have a PayPal account to use this service. We will email you an invoice with simple instructions on how to pay on-line. There is small charge for this service (3.5%)
