Rural 03320 Lurcy-Lévis “We bought an old farmhouse, knew the work was more than
we could tackle and it started off as just a small project downstairs, knock
a couple of walls down, move the kitchen and a bit of wiring. Didn't
quite work out like that. A bit by accident we found
Andy who referred us to a local architect, he sorted out all the plans
and permissions (the estate agent 'forgot' to tell us about Batiment de France needing to be involved), that lead to
a local carpenter fitting our beautiful oak staircase. The upstairs, no
more than a well used hay loft that had various pieces of heavy farm
machinery and miscellaneous junk stored in it, has been transformed in to a
huge bedroom, a smaller twin bedroom and shower room. Andy's attention
to the finishing, particularly in scribing the plaster board to exactly match
the beams, is testimony to his skill and patience. He fitted the kitchen,
removed a bit of wall in the livingroom and found
tiles to match the floor and its well nigh
impossible to see where they have been done. He has made doors, shutters and
fitted windows. Since the work was completed he has phoned to ask if we
wanted him to check the house following a bad storm which he did and
immediately repaired some roof tiles. We see Andy (and Jackie) now as friends
